Inec Fire Outbreak

INEC office in Abuja was reported to have gut fire today due to electric fault. The fire which started at 9:00am stopped at 9:30am this morning.

A burnt smell was smelt at the building by some of the staffs present. when they checked, they noticed it was coming out from the voters registry department.

Director of ICT INEC Engineer Chidi Nwafor  said they tried using fire extinguisher to put the fire off but the couldn't, when they noticed the fire was getting worse, they called the fire service and Nema. So finally, Nema and the fire service quenched the fire.

Though it was said that the fire did not cause a lot of damages as only one office was burnt. Mr. Nwafor said no vital document was affected.
