Tanker Caught fire at Omagwa

At exactly 10:am on Friday December 21, hell was let loose in Omagwa Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State when a heavy trailer tanker conveying 33 litres of petroleum product to owerri crashed as a result of over speeding by the tanker driver along the Isiokpo-Owerri road.

The tanker immediately burst into flames, gutting properties worth millions of naira including the NEPA high tension cables leading to Isiokpo while two cars, a baby jeep and a saloon car that were closely behind the tanker were burnt beyond recognition as the occupant managed to escape with their lives.

One of the landlord’s whose house was affected by the fire, Mr. Joseph Amanwo appealed to Rivers State Government as his properties and valuables had just disappeared within a second and he also said they couldn’t get the where about of the tanker drivers since the truck was burnt beyond recognition.
