Tele Ikuru denies involvement in Mrs. Lucky Death.


Rivers State Deputy Governor and Chairman, Rivers State Flood Relief Committee, Engr. Tele Ikuru says he has no hand or knowledge of the circumstances leading to the death of Miss Chidinma Maureen Lucky who was said to have died due to her eviction from the flood camp in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Engr. Tele Ikuru was reacting was reacting to statement issued by Social Acton, a non Governmental Organisation based in Port Harcourt, and carried in some online, national and local newspapers, alleging his involvement in the forceful eviction and death of Miss Chidinma Maureen Lucky, a HIV/AIDS positive woman and an indegene of Okwuzi in Onelga during the recent flood disaster.

In a statement made by his Press Secretary Mr. Biobele Da-wariboko, The Deputy Governor stated cathegorically that he had no knowledge directly or indirectly in the matter.

 He also said Engr. IKuru was only doing his normal routine visits to the camps when he visited the Okwuzi camp on Nov 6 2012 where the campees complained of the presence of an HIV/AIDS infected person in the camp.

 Engr. Tele Ikuru being a sympathetic individual explained to the people about HIV/AIDS, he told them the desease is not transmissible on physical contact and that they need to show care to people living with the virus.
